[Umi sighs deeply. She truly wishes she could be one to have a better clue about how to go about this sort of situations. In all truth, for what boyfriends she's had, none of them truly meant much more than a passing thing. Hikaru's face... Umi needs but look at her to understand things are different here. Real.]

[Hikaru finally looked up at her friend. She was sure Umi would've known, but... Still, she was just glad Umi was there. She laughed a little, rubbing at the back of her head]
M-maybe, but... I think he gets a little impatient with me being slow sometimes. But I just want to make sure he's smiling.
[Boy, does she hope this boy is the right one for Hikaru. Umi never considered being where she stands right now, but now understands this is really what an older sister must feel, thinking about her little one falling for someone. Funny to think Hikaru's actually the eldest of the two.]
Slow?? The impatient type, huh? Well, he better respect your own pace or I'll have to beat him up for being pushy~! [That's her joking tone, but who knows. Hikaru's always taking this kind of teasing seriously.]

[It's hard to hold back a sigh of relief. Umi discovers she's been holding her breath. IF the City dared touch Hikaru or Kid, or even TRY to mess with their relationship... let's just say there would be consequences. Of the big kind that involve tsunamis.]

[She shakes her head slowly, feeling silly.] You scared me for a moment there. I thought this place had done something to your feelings...
... No, it hasn't. [Hikaru couldn't help but smile at Umi. She really did care about them, not that she hadn't expected it. Still, it was reassuring to see.]
But we need to finish this cake! [little loli armpump went into the air as she raised her sleeve. Hikaru was determined to get this cake right.]
[Umi has to chuckle and let go of her worries at seeing Hikaru so enthusiastic about the cake. So why not. She'll worry when the situation arises. For now she'll just make sure that Hikaru and her boyfriend stay happy.]

Here you go! [She passes the bowl and makes more of the ingredients available, happy to leave the subject for now. Hikaru seems happy, after all.]

Okay! [Hikaru liked this plan a lot better. There were less chances of her messing up again if Umi was helping her. And she did mean what she said about both of them giving it to Taiga.]
Mm! It's right here! [She reaches for it and hands it over to Umi.]
Perfect! So... Is this Taiga's favorite kind of cake? [Umi mixes the milk and whites with a few droplets of vanilla extract and waits for Hikaru to be done there so they can add the flour and others to the butter mixture.] Or did you just think it'd make a good gift?
