hikaru shidou; relations; death the kid Hikaru met Kid during the Mirror City curse trying to intervene an argument between him and Bossun. Kid followed up a few days later after the curse. During various events, Hikaru started talking to him more often, trying to get him to think more positively without his guns there. They continued to talk more and Hikaru started telling Kid more about herself, and vice versa. During a curse that caused Hikaru to be overly prideful and tell more about her past in Cephiro, the curse ended in the middle of her conversation with Kid. He had her promise him that she would be more honest about herself with him; she agreed because she realized when she pretends to be okay, it makes him worried. During a curse that made everyone affected older, aged!Kid kissed aged!Hikaru, and when the curse was over, Kid remembered what happened while Hikaru didn't. Several months later, during a No Inner Monologue curse, Kid confessed that he liked her and a week later properly confessed. The two are currently in an (albeit awkward) building relationship. Hikaru now considers Kid one of her closest friends in the City and would most likely tell him (almost) anything he wanted to know if he asked, save for her personal feelings on things she's done in Cephiro. She'd do almost anything for him if he only asked and is constantly urging him to be more positive and have faith. March 18, 2009, Kid left the City leaving Hikaru confused and hurt. But she has faith that he'll finish what he has to do in his world and come back because of a promise she made him. Kid was the first person to ever leave any sort of goodbye when he left, leaving her a note hidden in a drawer stating "this isn't goodbye, our paths will cross again". He also stated that he felt they were meant for each other. This left Hikaru not sure if he would truly return or not, despite her previously firm belief that he would.
