...That person was strong.

I've let myself get too weak since Guy-niichan left. I need to become stronger again.

...Rayearth, I'm sorry I used you for a battle like that again.

No one was too badly injured during everything yesterday? That was really rough. Umi, Fuu? Everyone? It looks like everything's back the way it was before, so there's no damage to anything. How's everyone doing?

I didn't know he was your...! Oh, dammit.

That means I didn't just fight two friends to near death, but three...

Umi... It's fine, really. It was a curse, none of us could really control ourselves. [She'd just had this conversation with Allelujah, too. She didn't like trying to rationalize behavior, but it really wasn't their faults.]

Still. It was scary. To know Mister Lockon and his companions would fight like that... At least it was fair to you later on, when only one fighter was left for you to handle. [However, that orange machine... Umi's breath is caught.]

...They're all really strong, aren't they?

Hikaru. [Okay, Umi can't take this anymore. It'll burn inside her head and torture her until she gets it out. Nevermind Hikaru is there with her and safe.] You keep doing it... There's something about this that you're not telling me.

[Hikaru blinked up at her slowly. She knew what Umi was getting at, and she was trying not to think about it. But she smiled tiredly.]

...I'm sorry, Umi. You're right.

[Now that she's sure Umi doesn't know if she's ready to hear whatever this something may be, even if she has a horrible suspicion. She was hurt in battle, after all. It's impossible to expect Hikaru wasn't.]

You can tell me... After yesterday... I think I have a pretty good guess.

It was pretty bad, yeah. He had this ...claw thing that gave off heat. I managed to get a fire shield up in time, but it was still pretty bad.

...It sure was.

[That's as much as Umi needs to hear. She knows that smile. She knows Hikaru's desire to protect her from something her best friend knows would devastate her. She needs to keep telling herself it was a curse. And yet the thought that somehow... maybe the pilot of that orange mecha...]

So we shouldn't blame ourselves for how things turned out. Or blame them. Even if it's tough...

[Umi seemed to have given sway so Hikaru didn't go any further than that. She hadn't outright lied or held anything back. But. ...all the same, there was a tinge of guilt for not telling her what really happened. But it was for her and their friends' good for the time being. ]

I know... But it doesn't seem like any of them wanted to fight at all. I'm just glad everyone's okay now.

Right. Now we are.

[So tired... Tomorrow. She'll deal with this tomorrow. In any case there's nothing to be done now. Umi feels like the thousand hours she's spent asleep haven't been nearly enough.]

I just hope Mister Lockon doesn't hate me. [And that she doesn't end up hating anyone in turn...]

...He doesn't. I know he doesn't, Umi.

[She tried to be reassuring to her friend, despite her own exhaustion. She wanted to make sure Umi and everyone else was okay before she rested. She didn't want to risk anything.] You should go back and lay down, okay?

He has the right to hate me... I'll make it up to him somehow.

[But how will she do that, Umi has no idea. She still feels the blasts of the gunshots burning on her back and shoulders. Still hears Mister Lockon calling out to his brother in her mind. Her head is swimming and suddenly sleep sounds too tempting to refuse. Even if she feels like staying awake just to see Hikaru around and safe.

She's reluctant to head back to her bedroom.]

Fuu? And Louise...? What about Rika, have you seen them?

But he won't ask you to.

[At the question of the others, Hikaru pauses in her steps and looks around, then down.]

...I haven't heard from Louise-san, and Mokona was going out to look for Fuu. ...Rika-chan's gone.

[ooc; she hasn't mentioned it publicly yet, but Rika-mun said she was dropping her last week ._.v]

Gone...? [The word doesn't seem to make sense to Umi until a moment passes, in her troubled state.] You mean she left? Her portrait...?

[ooc: D8 Baaaaaaw Rika...]

...Mm. I saw it in the Hall before all this stuff happened. I didn't get to tell you sooner, I'm sorry.

...It's alright. You couldn't have, not with all that happened.

And it's better this way. Rika belongs at home, away from this place's nasty curses.

[Hikaru didn't know the details of Rika's home, but she remembered seeing some of Rika's memories once. She wasn't sure if it was better or worse for Rika to be there with Rena and that other girl.] Maybe...

But you should rest some more, all right? Especially if you're going to check up with everyone tomorrow.

[Umi will have to face it sooner or later, the need to go have her rest. She nods briefly, telling herself it's silly to fear she may wake up to find Hikaru and Fuu gone. But this is the state of mind the curse has left her in.]

Will you stay up? Don't you feel like resting a little more too?

I'll be up a little bit longer. I told Roxas-san I'd talk to someone, and I want to finish checking on everyone.

...Okay. [It's wonderful to see Hikaru so lively after what happened, even if part of it has to be her best friend acting like this for Umi's own sake. She smiles tiredly and heads back to the bedroom regardless.] Just don't overexert yourself. Please.

[He'd be aggravated at her if he knew she was acting so hard, like she promised she wouldn't. But it felt like she was backtracking. Still, she couldn't find it in her to tell Umi what really happened.] I won't. You don't either tomorrow, okay?

[Tomorrow will be the day for clearing things out, Umi promises herself. It's better to face everything with a rested mind, and as away from the curse's aftermath as possible. She'll have a couple of questions to ask around too. Some of the answers she may get actually scare her.] It's a deal.
